Dr. Christopher Kent, DC, JD is one of the most brilliant and well-respected principled chiropractors on the planet. Having graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1973, he hit the ground running with his efforts to help preserve, protect, and advance the profession, and hasn’t stopped since. Driven by his keen intellect and big vision, he has been internationally recognized for his research and his unique ability to blend chiropractic philosophy and science. And he does all of this with incredible humility and grace, making him a living legend. Two of his current projects include being President of the Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation and owner of On Purpose, LLC.
He supports the IFCO because they stand for the location, analysis, and correction of vertebral subluxation for the fullest expression of life. Having been an IFCO member for approximately 8 years, he urges others to join the IFCO in order to preserve their ability to practice subluxation-centered chiropractic, and to secure the future of chiropractic. “It’s refreshing to work with people who share your vision, passion, and commitment,” he wrote in a recent email interview.
Dr. Kent wants students to think outside of the bubble they are surrounded by while in school and understand that there are those within our profession who wish to take away our ability to practice subluxation-centered chiropractic. As for advice for colleagues, he urges them to embody the understanding that the decisions you make and the actions you take today, sculpt your future and that of humanity.
As a master critical thinker, his current projects include working with the Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation on research, publication, and the development of guidelines. He also works with Sherman College to bring implementation of the vision for principled chiropractic to the world. As if being one of the world’s most accomplished and recognized DCs wasn’t enough, when not working to advance our amazing profession, his passions outside of chiropractic include aviation (he flies airplanes), amateur radio, yoga, target shooting, and pets.
Longtime IFCO member and chiropractic leader Dr. Danny Knowles sums up Dr. Kent’s generous influence on chiropractic: “There are very few in the history of the chiropractic profession that have given every ounce of their being to move our profession forward in a vitalistic, congruent paradigm. Christopher Kent is one of those few, and our whole profession owes an incredible debt of gratitude to him that could never truly be repaid.”
